Before
Our client wanted a complete transformation in both style and quality, with standout features including a freestanding bath and a spacious walk-in shower. As this was a family bathroom used by two young boys, durability was just as important as aesthetics, so every element needed to be hard-wearing and practical for everyday use, and storage was essential.
The room measured a generous 3.2m x 2m, giving us enough space to accommodate these larger statement pieces. However, incorporating a wall-mounted WC on a solid wall without compromising the layout or sacrificing any of the client's must-have features required careful planning and thoughtful design. The result is a layout that feels balanced, spacious and highly functional.
To create a strong visual impact, we selected dramatic gunmetal brassware paired with crisp white sanitaryware and furniture. This combination delivers a contemporary feel while allowing the darker metallic finishes to become a striking design feature.
The tile selection process was extensive, with a wealth of options available from our Italian manufacturing partners. We explored a variety of softer natural tones and timber-effect finishes before ultimately deciding that a lighter overall scheme was the preferred direction. To avoid the room feeling too stark or clinical, we chose a subtle marble-effect tile with a more refined and understated character than the classic white tile with bold grey veining.
For both practicality and luxury, we specified a matt finish floor tile to provide enhanced slip resistance and safety underfoot, while glossy wall tiles were used to reflect light and elevate the overall sense of elegance. The finished space successfully combines family-friendly durability with a sophisticated, timeless aesthetic.
